While return on investment is important, it’s only one part of the equation. Waymark also continually considers your unique short- and long-term financial goals as we guide you through your lifelong wealth journey.
There is a distinct difference between having the financial means to live the life you want and actually being able to do so. We integrate traditional wealth management with behavioral finance to chart your course and help you navigate it with assuredness. Behavioral finance uses a values-based decision-making process to help you strive confidently towards your life goals, roadmap in hand.
With the principles of behavioral finance leading the way, Waymark Wealth Management can help you pursue your own unique “True Wealth.”
Our Team
Brendan Sheehan, MSFP, CFP®
Managing Director
Brendan’s journey from growing up in a mainly blue-collar suburb of Boston to being recognized as one of the top Wealth Advisors in Massachusetts has been an improbable one. After graduating from Harvard with a degree in Psychology, he decided to leverage his fancy Ivy League degree by working simultaneously as an unpaid intern during the day at a sports marketing firm co-owned by Boston Bruins great Bobby Orr and as a waiter at Pizzeria Uno at night. After working in the advertising/marketing world for five years, Brendan was persuaded to join his father’s eponymous financial planning firm as the marketing director. He quickly learned that he needed to know something about financial planning to speak intelligently with clients, so he decided to work full-time during the day and go back to school at night to earn his master’s degree in financial planning and his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNING™ designation. There were many twists and turns along the way, but in 2019, Brendan became the sole owner of Waymark Wealth Management, LLC, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Some people are surprised to learn that Brendan graduated with a degree in psychology and ultimately chose a career in financial planning. But he would point to this background as critical to his success. Employing behavioral finance can often impact a client’s financial success much more significantly than simple black-and-white financial planning. Of course, over his 20+ year financial planning career, Brendan has gained extensive experience in comprehensive wealth management and has been featured by MoneyGeek, U.S. News, the Boston Business Journal, Financial Planning magazine, GoBankingRates.com, and WTOP News. His focus includes retirement planning, client investment portfolio construction, education funding, insurance and risk management, charitable giving, and tax and estate planning strategies. But if you ask Brendan to describe his unique ability, he will say it’s his skill to understand his clients' complex visions and distill them down to simple action plans, helping them move from where they are today to where they want to be tomorrow.
As an Eagle Scout, Brendan still is quite involved with the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). In fact, his daughter Caeli was one of the first females to become a Scout after BSA opened to girls in 2019. He also has been an active member of a local CrossFit gym for over ten years. When they are not spending time with friends and family, Brendan, his wife Sue, and daughters Caeli and Emma are busy taking care of their five pets: German shepherds Timber and Kammie, ferrets Luna and Nala, and bearded dragon Nugget.
